As long as the CORE model has a large HDD as standard I don't care. I will buy the PREMIUM model though.

Really, M$ should sell 3 SKU's
1. CORE - basic console.
2. PREMIUM - high end console with larder HDD
3. ELITE - High end console with Kinect

1. The casuals have abandoned Nintendo. They have moved onto other things like smartphone games and Kinect.
2. Wii U will be too expentive for the causal croud.
3. Wii U is too weak graphically to appeal to hardcore gamers.
Thus, the only people that will buy a Wii U at launch will be Ninty fanboys and the Any gimmick croud.
If Skyrim can fit on one disc, why not GTA 5?
2 should be enough. I'm really getting tired of disc swapping though. It was an annyance on RAGE and LA Noire I can tell you that. Its not too bad when its a liner game, but when you want to back track, and you have to keep swapping discs, then it becomes a problem.

I have a horrible feeling that M$ will go softcore next gen while Sony target the hardcore. If this is the case, I will be buying a PS4 day one and i'll leave the 720 and Kinect to the casuals.

Unsurprising really - the gimmick bubble has well and truely popped. The casuals have moved onto something else ande the hardcore are gaming on HD consoles.
Its a gimmick because it doesn't improve the game.
Instead of concentrating on silly controllers, Ninty should be focusing on creating new IP.
Hardware innovation should come from its graphics and power, not from its controller.
The 360/ps3 pad has basically perfected controller based games. Added a screen is nothing but a gimmick, and one I believe will feel uncomfortable when playing compared to Sony and M$ pads.

I too grew up with Nintendo and brought everything from the NES to the Wii.
But I will not be buying a WiiU. I'm done with New Nintendo.
I want the innovation to come from Nintendo's first party games, not from gimmicky controllers and under powered hardware.
I love Mario and Zelda, but I wish they would create some new hard core games that where aimed at a more mature audienc...
